Theatre UNO is proud to present their 2012 opener, Holy Ghosts by Romulus Linney. The production, directed by David Hoover, will be presented six times this week at the Robert E. Nims Theatre on campus.
Romulus Linney’s 1971 two-act play takes place in the
remote rural South. Quick-tempered husband Coleman Shedman is in pursuit of
his runaway wife, Nancy, who has seemingly come to the decision to
marry a Reverend’s son. When a religious congregation interrupts the
couple’s quarrel, their domestic dispute gives way to the lively
individual stories of the congregation. Coleman watches the tables
turn as the line between sanity and madness blurs into a crescendo of
religious fanaticism.
Performances will take place in the UNO Performing Arts Center's Robert E.
Nims Theatre Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $8 for students, seniors, faculty, and staff.
